Solar Street Lights Installation

1. Site Inspection & Planning

  • Analyze the area where lights are to be installed.

  • Identify:

    • Pole locations

    • Illumination coverage needs

    • Sunlight availability (no heavy shading)

  • Mark installation points based on spacing and road width.

2. System Design & Configuration

  • Choose the type of solar street light:

    • All-in-One (integrated)

    • Split Type (separate panel, battery, and light)

  • Design includes:

    • Wattage (e.g., 12W, 24W, 40W, etc.)

    • Battery size (Li-ion or LiFePO4)

    • Panel capacity

    • Pole height and material

3. Foundation & Pole Installation

  • Dig a pit (usually 1 to 1.5 meters deep).

  • Install foundation bolts with concrete for a strong base.

  • Erect the pole after concrete is set (usually after 24–48 hours).

  • Ensure vertical alignment using a plumb line.

4. Fixture Mounting

  • Mount the solar panel and LED light on the pole.

  • Fix the battery box or integrated light unit securely.

  • Use rust-proof brackets and nuts for long life.

5. Wiring & Connections

  • Connect:

    • Solar panel to charge controller

    • Controller to battery

    • Battery to LED lamp

  • Use waterproof connectors and secure wiring through the pole.

  • Properly insulate all joints for safety.

6. System Testing

  • Verify:

    • Solar panel orientation (south-facing in India)

    • Charging voltage from the panel

    • Battery status and LED light timing

  • Simulate darkness to check automatic ON/OFF functionality via dusk-to-dawn sensor.

7. Final Handover & Monitoring

  • Handover the system after successful testing.

  • If using smart street lights, configure monitoring devices or apps (if applicable).

  • Provide maintenance instructions and warranty documents.

  • Solar Panel (Mono or Polycrystalline)

  • LED Light Fixture

  • Battery (Lithium or SMF)

  • MPPT or PWM Charge Controller

  • Galvanized Pole (3 to 9 meters)

  • Mounting and Wiring Accessories
